清朝時期漳泉兩族鬥爭激烈，

而漳州望族青年陳秋生愛上了泉州望族的千金秀蘭，

無奈漳泉兩族世仇，男女不可能通婚，

又秀蘭父親有意將女兒許配給親信金龍，

為此秋生與秀蘭求慧空法師予以協助。

慧空為了促成這段姻緣，利用特殊藥物要秀蘭詐死，

再派人將秀蘭送與秋生會合，

但因通報之人與秋生錯過了會面時間，

又讓秋生得知了秀蘭已死的消息，造成秋生誤會，

而在秀蘭面前服毒自盡。

秀蘭最後向金龍表達自己對秋生的真情，並以生命為自己的真愛殉情。

A Story of Love & Feud

Young man, Chen Qiu-Sheng, falls in love with Xiu-Lien when they first met, but their encounter is fatally to end up with sorrow as two families are feud and represent two respected families in their own community.

While Lin Qiu-Sheng and Xiu-Lien are secretly enjoying in their love, Xiu-Lien is arranged to marry to the family chamberlain by her father, who intends to secure the wealth and reputation in the community through the arranged marriage. To defense her love, Xiu-Lien edcides take a monk’s advice pretending that she is committed suicide for the love by a special poison on her wedding day. Somehow Lin Qiu-Sheng accidentally received a wrong message and does not realize Xiu-Lien is losing conscious for temp, he therefore chooses to die together with his love….

A Chinese version of Romeo & Juliet tells a story of love and how feud blinds peoples’mind.
